APPLICATION PROCESS

Soldiers must be assigned to Fort Carson to be eligible. 

Application approval is based on need, not rank or income.

To apply for the Santa’s Workshop program:

1.Complete the application.

 - Starting 3 September the application will be available through your unit’s Chaplain, your unit's Family Readiness Liaison (FRL), on our Facebook page, or clicking on the PDF link at the bottom left corner of this page. 

2. Print an LES, and attach to application.

3. Make an appointment with your unit Chaplain or FRL to review the application, make sure you have an LES attached, obtain the appropriate signatures, and submit completed application to the CFNCO. All applications must be submitted through the Chaplain or FRL. Any applications sent directly to the Mountain Post Santa’s Workshop will not be reviewed.

TIPS

An incomplete application or missing LES can hold-up the review process or even cause the application to be denied.  Please ensure your applications are completed thoroughly.  Completed applications are due from the unit FRL no later than 27 October

Is your active-duty spouse deployed?  A spouse can apply on behalf of the family, but must also go to the unit Chaplain or FRL to submit the application.

Are you part of a dual-military family?  Complete only one application for your family.

FAQ
* When will applicants be notified if they will receive gifts?
The application process closes at the end of October and the applications are reviewed by a separate committee in November. The unit Chaplain or FRLs will be informed as to who has been selected to participate in our program this year and their shopping date/time by the end of November. They will notify the soldiers and/or their spouses of this by the FIRST WEEK IN DECEMBER.
